12 Days and Counting...

Today I finished my last exam EVAR (technically yesterday since it's past midnight now). Huzzaaahh! But on to better things..

Now I can totally focus on this trip. Can you imagine how many nights I spent looking up / researching random ish on the internet instead of doing schoolwork? Major distraction.

Anyway, so today I wanted to do a trial pack of all my stuff, and being the awesome best friend that she is, Alyssa helped me the entire way. Actually she did it all, but shhh.. she enjoys it so why not let her enjoy it to the max? ;)

* Note * for anyone going on a long trip for the first time, please please please do a trial pack at least a week before you leave.. you may need to upgrade/downgrade your luggage options, or leave stuff behind you can't fit.. among other things.

Hmm.. how to fit all of this stuff into my pack?
Maybe if I sleep on it, it will magically be packed when I wake up...

I guess the obvious way to pack is to roll everything. So roll we did. I only brought the minimal amount of clothing, so the actual packing part didn't take too long. But holy moly.. look at this thing!

I know it doesn't look THAT big, but it was packed to the max for sure.
Anyway. When I saw how packed my.. pack.. was, Alyssa said "dude, your mom's gonna freak when she sees this". Keep in mind this pack is in addition to the 19" wheeled luggage I'm bringing, which is also packed to the max. AND I didn't even pack my netbook or cables, so clearly, I need more space. (p.s., the pack weighed about 8-10 lbs when packed at full capacity)

This is the great thing about pre-packing. Now I have time to consider different options.. so tomorrow, I'm going to take a look at 22" and 24" wheeled luggage and see how practical it would be to lug around. Here's me with my mom's 26", and there's no way I'm bringing this. The dimensions are way too huge for a trip when you're going to be moving around a lot.. especially for someone of such small stature lol

Pack on mah back and a 26"
And yes, yes, the 26" doesn't look that big in the photo, but it's heavy. Having injured my lower back before, I'm going to opt for lighter options.

Anywho, that's all for now. Less than 2 weeks and I'm outta here! =D
